Plying and intermingling

Plying is a basic process, which consists of putting together several strands of yarn and getting a higher count (from 4,000 to 15,000 dtex). In order to make the product denser and more stable, the yarn is intermingled. The intermingling process takes place with the support of an air jet that opens and closes the fiber. The processing parameters are adjustable. By changing the air pressure level and the winding speed, the number of intermingling points, which are necessary to achieve the desired result, is created.

Processings - Twisting


Twisting is the process, which increases the strength and resistance of the yarn by giving torsion to the fibers, providing greater stability of the filaments. This makes the material more workable. Two, three or more yarns can be twisted together to form a higher count twisted strand. Our state-of-the-art Roblon and Twist Technology machines allow us to twist yarns of different fibers (high tenacity polyester, nylon 66 and 6, polypropylene, Dyneema) with a high number of torsions, guaranteeing a high-quality level of the product. After being twisted, the yarn is transferred onto cardboard (or plastic) tubes of different sizes according to the customer's needs. During the winding process, there is a further visual quality check of the yarn, that makes it possible to avoid any defect in the rope production afterwards.

In the cabling process, several already twisted yarns (also see "twisting" stage) are put together again and twisted into the opposite direction to the one of the first twisting stage. The product created during these processing steps, so- called cable yarn, or hawser, is made according to the customer's requests; thus, different twisting levels and final counts are possible. One of the strong points of Eurotexfilati is the extreme flexibility in designing and developing tailor-made solutions for the customer. Even the most challenging products can be created ad hoc and made suitable for every need.

Processings - Coating


Coating process allows, thanks to the use of resins or other water-based chemical substances, to improve natural characteristics of the synthetic fibers, such as water resistance, elasticity, rigidity and others. The treatment varies according to the application requirements.


After being processed, the yarns, before being delivered, must be transferred onto disposal bobbins (cardboard or plastic tubes). Each bobbin is made according to customer’s requests (e.g. weight, meters, packaging, foundation). During the winding, a further quality control is carried out by means of optical sensors and tensiometers. In order to guarantee the product’s traceability, each bobbin is labeled individually.
