Eurotexfilati has therefore committed to a multi-year growth plan, focusing on sustainable development with an increasingly lower environmental impact. The company has entrusted an energy efficiency project to Energenius Srl, an innovative start-up with cutting-edge know-how that deals with transforming the energy consumption of its customer companies into a competitive asset for them.
"Energy is not only an important cost factor for a company but also one of the main driving forces behind environmental impact. Monitoring a company’s consumption is an essential step in trying to reduce it: determining energy flows, understanding its financial implications and how it is distributed throughout plants and the production process helps us to identify the measures and actions to take in order to reduce costs and emissions."

Eurotexfilati and Energenius have agreed on a long-term project that consists of three steps:
STEP 1: A CHECK-UP OF THE COMPANY’S ENERGY CONSUMPTION. The first step involves determining the company's current energy consumption and related costs: an analysis of electricity providers’ bills rather than LPG, energy consumption and an assessment of the maintenance of auxiliary systems (air conditioning, compressed air, refrigeration units, etc.). This picture of the company's energy consumption can then be used to identify initial areas of intervention in the energy efficiency process: for example, changing the energy provider or type of contract, altering or replacing heating/cooling systems, as well as the potential installation of renewable energy systems (photovoltaic systems, or other).
STEP 2: INSTALLING AN ENGINEERED MONITORING SYSTEM This step involves installing an on-site energy consumption monitoring system. Once the main users to be monitored have been identified, meters are installed that sample and record the consumption by means of a Datalogger. Data are then displayed on a software platform that allows the trend to be constantly monitored.
STEP 3: REGULAR ANALYSIS OF ENERGY Once the monitoring system has been installed, the data can be analysed: warnings are created to automatically detect peaks, out-of-hours consumption or other anomalies. Energy KPIs are created that correlate production with the energy consumed by associating energy consumption with the quantity of products. In addition, regular reports are drawn up to constantly monitor the consumption situation and its trend. Where necessary, further corrective measures can be taken in order to improve energy efficiency.
The project was launched in November 2019. Step 1 has been completed and the initial results of this challenging project can already be seen. Eurotexfilati is now ready to implement Step 2 by installing the monitoring kit.
